2009 Artist Residency
Congratulations to the artists selected for the 2009 Artsmith Artist Residency. The artists are the guest of Artsmith and Kangaroo House Bed & Breakfast for a week-long residency focus on their work.

2010 Residency

If you would like to receive an invitation to apply for the 2010 residency, please send your name and e-mail address to info (at) orcasartsmith.org. Replace (at) with @. Invitations will be sent in the fall of 2009.
Selection Criteria
Candidates are chosen by the Artsmith Peer Review Panel. The Panel is comprised of a diverse group of Artists, Writers, and Scholars. They review the applications and select applicants based on two main criteria:
1. Likelihood applicants will benefit from the residency
2. Ability for applicants to provide a cross-discipline diversity to the residency
The residency takes place at Kangaroo House Bed & Breakfast, a 1907 Craftsman farmhouse one mile north of the village of Eastsound on Orcas Island in Washington state.

Each room at Kangaroo House is different, and has its own bathroom. Pictured above is the Nuthatch Room, which has a queensize bed one guest dubbed "The Sleeping Beauty Bed."
